( votes)Midnight Sin, on their second full-length release and third overall, are back with a catchy, headbanging blend of Hair Metal, Power Metal, and Modern Sleaze Rock. One Last Ride will be well received by fans of contemporary acts like Santa Cruz, Hell In The Club, Eclipse, and Crash Diet.
Guitar driven songs and memorable vocal hooks are the key elements at work here. Most tracks land in mid-tempo territory with “The Maze” providing a nice contrast with its more Power Metal leaning double bass work. Ear crunching, brain blistering guitar tones elevate already good songs to new heights thanks to a modern, crisp, tight production. Classic songwriting with modern production makes for a great combination.
Generally speaking, any casual Hard Rock or Metal fan will find this to be the perfect soundtrack for cruising with the top down in their 1991 Corvette. Catchy, well performed, and heartfelt deliveries make this a familiar sounding, yet enjoyable winner.
