The 4th album since the rebirth of Accept, The Rise Of Chaos has all of the ingredients that Accept fans are looking for in a new release. Solidly maintaining its stance as everyone’s second favorite German band, Accept continue to stay relevant in the European Metal scene and in doing so, climb further up the ladder of in-demand headlining festival acts.

While retaining the gut-punching sensibilities of Blood Of The Nations, this new release offers a bit more in terms of melodic content and hooky-ness. Tracks like “Die By The Sword” and “What’s Done Is Done”, are proper sing-along, instant Metal classics. “Hole In The Head” is absolutely crushing, with darkly humorous lyrics: “I need you like a rotting core…like a crippling disease…like a whore that does not please…”  Vocalist Mark Tornillo still has all the attitude and grittiness that got him the job in the first place, but he also brings an ability to weave enticing and memorable vocal lines throughout the album, elevating The Rise Of Chaos to a higher standing in the process.

Although Accept take few risks and adventures on this release, it stays remarkably consistent throughout and is more than listenable from start to finish. At its worst, The Rise Of Chaos is average and at its best, it makes a truly noteworthy contribution to the Classic Metal genre. Ending on a strong note with “Worlds Colliding”, fans are reminded why this band has been around for decades and is still at the top.
