Dragons. Demons. Battles. Kings. Swords. All flying through the sky on wings of fire. War Of Dragons from Bloodbound is 100% Power Metal. This should come as no surprise to anyone who has been following the ascent of this gang of Swedish metallers. War Of Dragons marks the band’s 6th studio album and is perhaps the most polished and consistent. Elitist Metalcore fans may be turned off by the traditional sword and fantasy themed lyrics, but there shall be no denying Bloodbound’s ability to craft catchy songs and deliver them in the most glorious way possible. One could say that although the dark hearted worshipers of Death growls and down-tuned axes shall run in fear from Bloodbound’s unbending force of lyrical poetry, War Of Dragons will find a warm, welcoming home among the waiting throngs of anthem-guarding Metal warriors.

Highlights include the speedy opener “Battle In The Sky”, title track “War Of Dragons”, the Elven sing-a-long anthems “Silver Wings” and “Stand And Fight”, and climactic closer “Dragons Are Forever”. However, for any serious Power Metal fan, this album will be a non-stop triumphant and glorious listening experience.
