Get yourself a Brazilian … album, that is. Avalon is an eleven-track Power Metal LP by São Paulo’s TraumeR. This is their second full-length release since their beginnings in 2009. The bell-like vocals of Guilherme Hirose reach high and are reminiscent of Dennis DeYoung of Styx.

Songs are well written—especially lyrically. Keyboards and volume leveling could be a little tighter, as delivery can get bouncy. However, TraumeR have found themselves climbing the Japanese Metal charts and are always in touch with their fans, so they are doing many things right. Put on “Let You Go” for one of their best songs on this record, showcasing the talent of all members.

Jude was a reviewer here at Metal Express Radio, living in Taiwan but originally from the great state of Ohio, USA. He first got into music when a fellow weirdo in his catholic high school needed someone to play guitar with. They jammed on some Grunge Rock, but soon he got hooked on the blisteringly-fast shredding of Randy Rhoads and other greats. Later, he bought Metallica's Ride The Lightning as his first album purchase. During that time, his friends and him would end up at local Metal shows. He played in some bands himself as well.
