( votes)Dumb Hole is comprised of a couple of guys from Sweden: Leonardo Guzman & Magnus Almqvist. Dumb Hole? What a band name! Is that the result of a brainstorming session after ten shots of vodka? Or does it allude to one’s mouth yearning for expression but finding itself frustratingly mute? Whether they intend to be intellectual or crude, the music on Bravest Of The Galaxy leans strongly toward the former with diligent musicianship and serious lyrics.
Bravest Of The Galaxy has a Hard Rock groove throughout. This is Dumb Hole’s first release, and can be compared to early Foo Fighters, Muse, or the band Fuel. Dual/doubled vocals are the main drive, and excellent drumming helps it punch into the realm of the heavy. This music would be perfect for a disgruntled barista to slip into the mix of their flaccid coffee shop playlist. On this album, you will find well-made and delightfully experimental Rock. A solid first effort. Look to “Now I See” for their most mainstream song to help you ease into your curiosity.
