( vote)It has been seven years since German band Aeternitas released an album, but unlike some long-anticipated releases (Chinese Democracy anyone?) Aeternitas have made this hiatus well worth the wait. Be prepared for an epic release. Symphonic Metal is about being monumental anyway, but fifteen-tracks is still quite impressive.
House Of Usher has a good mix of male and female vocals and features a number of key changes. The song “Fear” sounds as if it could be the next James Bond theme music. Other tracks have that intense movie sound as well, as if they’re a Hans Zimmer score with vocals. Varying tempos, distinctive songs, and the sheer volume of music contributes to an all-around superb effort.
