Zak Stevens is best known for his tenure as frontman for Savatage … right up to the point when most of Savatage decided to conjure up Christmas cheer every year via the hugely successful Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Stevens formed Circle II Circle shortly after the turn of the century, and it’s hard to believe, but Reign Of Darkness is the band’s 7^th studio album.

Circle II Circle mixes Progressive elements into their Melodic Metal foundation, and by and large the formula continues to work for the Reign Of Darkness album. Nothing mind-blowing here, but this release is definitely worth your attention.

Dan is a former partner at Metal Express Radio, and also served as a reviewer, photographer and interviewer on occasions. Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album.
