Powerwolf is a German band with a handful of albums already to their credit prior to the release of Blessed & Possessed. Powerwolf, all painted up in ghoulish, corpse face paint, plays Epic Power Metal blended with light symphonics. As can be deducted from the album title and their physical appearance, Powerwolf’s song topics tend to focus on religious themes, but from the dark perspective. Musically, the band plays commendably within Blessed & Possessed, however, vocalist Attila Dom tends to dominate and wash out many of the enjoyable musical soundscapes, making for an overall repetitive feeling album that tires quickly.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
