Teramaze hails from Australia, and Esoteric Symbolism is the band’s 4th release. As you can tell from the album title, Teramaze’s backdrop is rooted in Progressive Metal … but those roots stay shallow within Esoteric Symbolism, instead leaning more towards Melodic Metal. Like most bands that incorporate Progressive Metal elements, Teramaze offers nice change-ups and plenty of variety within this new release, making it at a minimum an interesting listen. Many Progressive bands opt to create lengthy, epic tracks, but Teramaze tends to get in to songs and out before they grow hair … a welcomed trait to be sure.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
