Andi Deris, famed vocalist for Helloween, has released a solo record – his first since 1999 – entitled Million Dollar Haircuts On Ten Cent Heads, where he delivers call outs to the scandals recently transpiring in the banking industry. The “Bad Bankers” band Deris has assembled includes guitarist Nico Martin, bassist Jezoar Marrero, and drummer Nasim Lopez-Palacios. By and large, Deris stays clear of Helloween’s rough-edged Power Metal, and opts for a mix between Traditional and Melodic Metal with some impressively diversified musicianship. As expected, Deris performs admirably at the microphone, and meshes meaningful messages and melodies into a very enjoyable release.
