Kaledon is an Italian Power Metal outfit formed in 1998 by guitarist Alex Mele. Altor: The King’s Blacksmith is a concept album about a good man (Altor) who tragically loses his wife to an epidemic. Altor’s life tracks on an upswing upon becoming King Antillius’ blacksmith, however, the evil King Camagus captures Altor and throws him in the dungeon to die for standing firm to his principles. Kaledon weaves this story amongst a myriad of quality riffs, rhythms, and uplifting choruses, making this release surprisingly refreshing despite its depressing storyline … an album that seemingly gets better with each spin.

Based out of Indianapolis, USA he was first turned on to Hard Rock music in the mid-1970s when he purchased Deep Purple's Machine Head as his first album. He was immediately enthralled with the powerful guitar sound and pronounced drumbeat, and had to get more! His collection quickly expanded to include as many of Heavy Rock bands of the time that he could get his hands on, such as Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, and Black Sabbath, to name just a few.
