Attention all record companies, bands, managers, producers, manufacturers, doom dancers, whoever – THIS is the way to do reissues!!! Swedish Doom Metal legends Candlemass, fronted by bass player/songwriter Leif Edling and the huge (in weight as well as singing ability) Messiah Marcolin, reunites for summer festivals and a few more shows this year. Be it money, pure desire or just to support these reissues, I really don’t give a damn why they are back, as long as they are. As long as I get to see thousands of people doom dance at Wacken Open Air this year, I don’t care if their motives are questionable. Honestly, I don’t even think they are – I believe Candlemass is back to have fun and show people how real doom metal was done back in the days.

Well, how are these reissues then? They’re close to fucking perfection! I might be wrong about Epicus Doomicus Metalicus, but I believe that one was re-released as a vinyl only, as a double set including a live disc from the Nightfall era. The next three releases, the mighty invincible Nightfall, Ancient Dreams and Tales Of Creation, are all double CDs, containing demos, studio outtakes, live stuff as well as interviews and videos, not forgetting the liner notes. What a nice way to clean the attic! (I wish a few other bands could do it this way, too!) As far as I know, the highly underrated Chapter IV is not in the works yet, they decided to work on the classic lineup only I suppose… If you don’t buy these, Messiah will stagedive at you at Wacken! Doom forever!!!
